STE(A)M-ing it Up!
Do you like to tinker, create, or discover how things work? Want to try your hand in the "maker" fields? Engineer and build new creations from a wide variety of supplies. Create contraptions, structures, and more to solve different STEM and STEAM challenges.
Micro Safari
There’s a whole world of tiny creatures beneath our feet, & this is your chance to see them up close! You'll explore our grounds & discover all sorts of organisms—we'll hunt for water bears, scoop up crustaceans, and catch all sorts of insects. Then we'll take them back to the lab and use microscopes to learn about how these creatures look, move, & behave.
Grades 4-8
Stop-Motion Animation & Claymation
Interested in being the next animation creator? Create stories with clay, LEGO or your favorite toy characters. You'll work in a team to write a story, set up a stage with your characters, & create an original video of their adventures (We supply the clay & LEGOs, you can supply the other toys)!
Geocaching
Around the world, people have hidden small "caches" of items, and it's your job to find them. A high-tech hide & seek, a modern scavenger hunt. Learn about GPS and create your own caches. It's the game where YOU are the search engine.
