“Old Post Road” Walking Tour with the Fairfield Museum and History Center

*The event has already taken place on this date: Wed, 08/19/2020
Join us on a tour down the Old Post Road which once served as the primary thoroughfare through Fairfield dating back hundreds of years. Originally a Native American shoreline trading and traveling route, it was named as a section of “King’s Highway” in the 1700s, and by the 1800s, it was renamed Main Street. Travel back through time on this walking tour to learn the route’s fascinating history along with the many amazing historic sites on its path including the Rowland and Smedley lots, the Unquowa Hotel, the Fairfield Public Library, and the home of Ely S. Parker. $5 for members, $10 for non-members.

Meet at the Fairfield Museum, located at 370 Beach Road, Fairfield CT.

Registration required. All participants much register online or call at least 24 hours in advance of the tour. Unfortunately, no walk-ins will be allowed.

Outdoor Guided Tours are limited to 8 people or less (depending on tour/area/site).

All participants on the Guided Tour must wear face masks and agree to socially distance.
