*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 10/25/2025
In dazzling, vibrant animation, Hola Frida traces the childhood of Frida Kahlo in her hometown of Coyoacán, Mexico. Bursting with creativity, young Frida fills her first notebook with colorful drawings, inspired by her sister, a neighborhood dog, and the world outside her window. When illness confines her to bed, her dreams unfold into mystical visions filled with flowers, animals, and Zapotec imagery. Emerging with renewed strength, Frida takes her first steps toward becoming one of the most iconic artists of the 20th century. Directed by André Kadi and Karine Vézina. 2024. Canada, France. In Spanish with English subtitles. 1 hour, 22 minutes. Recommended for ages 7 and up.
