At the age of 15 he traveled to Cuba for the International Jazz Festival (with Latin Flavor, now better known as Insight) and invited guest pianist Chucho Valdez.
Over the years, Nelson performed with the likes of Andy Gonzalez, Cheo Feliciano, Ismael Miranda, Tony Vega, Charles Flores, Zaccai and Luques Curtis, among others.

AUGUST 5 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

TODAY: Jeremy Haddad …

An acoustic performer by heart, this friendly, bearded bard finds his musical calling in the simple arrangement of guitar and vocals. His songs and lyrics reflect an ever-changing landscape of emotionality, derived from common themes of love, anger, curiosity, and the indescribable task of being human. Living happily as just a drop in an ocean, every melody and note uttered is a tribute to the passing tides of his imagination — as many of his songs portray fabrications of people, thoughts and situations.

They are a no-nonsense, conservatory-trained group of musicians who share a love for playing soulful music together and making people dance. The band has built a grassroots name for themselves throughout the Northeast, and joined the Home Grown Music Network  in 2008. TODAY: Audrey Mae Bluegrass Band …
The Audrey Mae Bluegrass band features the duet harmonies of Peter Winne and Joe Delillo backed by a rotation cast of Connecticut bluegrass veterans. Together, despite being a generation apart, Winne and Delillo evoke brother harmony groups such as The Stanley Brothers, The Blue Sky Boys, and The Everly Brothers. Named after Delillo’s mother, an Alabama belle named Audrey Mae, the band delivers a brand of bluegrass that is at times high octane and at other times just plain lonesome.

SEPTEMBER 16 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

TODAY: KC Sisters …

The Casey sisters have music in their DNA. The girls were raised by two musicians and introduced to multiple genres of music from rock & roll, country, gospel, folk, R&B and jazz. Aside from their A cappella voices that harmonize on their repertoire of selections, each girl plays multiple instruments including the piano, guitar, violin, bass, cello and drums.
