VIRTUAL CAMP: Fun-damentals of Finance (ONLINE)

Are you confident about how to handle your finances? Well, there’s no shortage of ways of how you can spend your money but do you know how to save it? Ever thought about investing your money, tracking your finances, or even how to read a pay stub? This two week-long camp will cover a variety of useful, real-world subjects that will prepare you for living on your own! Topics covered will include monthly budgeting (rent, groceries, bills), as well as calculating gross-pay and net-pay for work.

Camp Goals and Objectives:

Familiarize students with budgetary guidelines such as "The Rule of Thirds," the benefits of having a room-mate, as well as the necessities of such wage deductions as EI, CPP, and federal/provincial taxes.

Successful completion of Math 9

*This is an online camp that will be run synchronously (live) with our teacher via Zoom.
