Your child will be engaged in hands-on experiences, activities, games, crafts, hikes,
observations, projects, stories, experiments and outdoor living skills activities. You may register your child for multiple
weeks of camp. Before camp and after camp programs are available. Camps are based on the grade your child will enter
in the fall. Northwest Park’s Summer Camp staff are highly qualified individuals interested in working with children. All
staff members are certified in American Red Cross First Aid and CPR. 2nd-3rd grade camps have 2 adult leaders with no
more than 16 participants.
June 27- July 1: Creature Features: Why do animals look the way they do? Understand their special traits,
learn how to walk like a fox, discover why appearance is important to survival.
July 5- July 8: Nocturnal Wonders: Enjoy the night sky during the day in our STARLAB planetarium, eat like
an astronauts, learn about wild nocturnal animals like the Barred Owl and little Brown Bat. No camp Monday,
July 4. Week pro-rated: $132 Windsor resident; $140 non-resident.
July 11-15: Wilderness Adventure: This week is filled with adventure based games! Learn about the key to
survival while making shelters, cooking over a fire, hiking and enjoy wilderness games and activities.
July 18-22: Back in Time: Take a step back in time and learn about the natives that once walked this land. Visit
a wigwam, learn about Native American food, and enjoy Native American crafts and stories.
July 25-29: Hunters of the Sky: Explore the world of flight this week, from a tiny honey bee to the great turkey
vulture. Go bugging in the fields, dissect owl pellets and listen to native owl calls.
Aug 1- 5: Down N Dirty: There are many ways to get dirty at Northwest Park. Build shelters, search for
amphibians, play woodland games all while learning about the animal kingdom through adventure and survival.
Aug 8-12: Water Wizards: Join us for a wild week filled with water and fun. From goop scooping, to frogging
in the pond, hike along the Rainbow Reservoir and explore how important our wetlands are to the environment.
