Green Moon is an early childhood development program for children ages 15 months through 7 years based in a learning approach that emphasizes educating the whole child - emotionally, socially, physically and cognitively - in an experience-based, interdisciplinary and collaborative setting.
Art Classes
Each art class is geared to a specific age range and is scheduled to meet at a time convenient for children of that age group. Art classes are offered for the following ages: 2s, 3s ,4s, 5s and 6s. During class, Green Moon students explore different medias, textures and various techniques. Students will complete six projects: one group activity, two independent art experiences and three sensory activities. Class length is 2 hour. This is a drop off class. Students may register for more than one Green Moon class per session.
Themed Art
This class offer children ages 2 - 7 years the option to explore painting, drawing, 3D sculpture, upcycled art, collage, assemblages and printmaking while schools are closed for break. In addition to single class activities, students also work on lengthier projects, such as paper mache, and classmates may work independently, as well as collaboratively, building social and interpersonal skills. This class is great for siblings too!
All Moons
Children ages 18 months to 4 years will enjoy one hour of art and one hour supervised age appropriate play, which includes learning to interact with peers, sharing and building social skills. Following art activities, children participate in circle time, which includes music and stories. During this time, teachers also focus on a skill for that class. Class length is 2 hours. This is a drop off class. Students may register for more than one Green Moon class per session.
Friend And Me
This class is for caregivers and children ages 15 months to 24 months, and offers an early introduction to the Green Moon teaching approach. During this introductory class, they encourage children to select and use a limited range of familiar materials, such as brushes, crayons and paper, and a range of new materials, such as liquid water colors, power paint and droppers, with instructor and Friend encouragement. Class length is 50 minutes. Caregivers must stay with students.
