Inaugural Noah Webster Backpack Bash

The Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society in West Hartford is thrilled to announce the inaugural “Backpack Bash” to collect backpack donations for West Hartford students in need. Together with Keating Agency Insurance, WHsquared, Maximum Beverage, and Eat IN Connecticut, the Backpack Bash will feature food tastings from area restaurants, including: Black Bamboo, David Alan Catering, Lindsay Culinary, Noble & Co., The Rockin’ Chicken, and Seoul BBQ & Sushi, as well as wine and beer samples from Maximum Beverage. There is fun for the whole family with a play area for kids, live music by Band2, raffle prizes, and more.
The entrance fee is either a new backpack or a donation ($20 for adults, $10 for kids 8+, 7 and under free.) Backpacks will be donated and delivered to The Town That Cares at their annual backpack donation event on the August 22nd. Larger backpacks for middle and high school students are especially appreciated. Monetary donations will support The Town That Cares and the educational mission of the Noah Webster House. The Noah Webster House provides quality, hands-on educational experiences to 5,500 students annually with 20% attending free of charge from underserved schools.
The Backpack Bash will be held at the Noah Webster House, 227 South Main St., West Hartford, on Thursday, August 17 from 6-8 p.m. Get your tickets online at noahwebster.yapsody.com. Guests are encouraged to pre-register as space is limited and the entrance fee will increase to $25/person at the door.
For those individuals who are interested in contributing but are unable to attend, Keating Agency Insurance (10 Arapahoe Rd., West Hartford), Maximum Beverage (West Hartford and Farmington locations) and the Noah Webster House (227 South Main St., West Hartford), will continue to collect backpacks and gift cards to either Target or Walmart up until August 21st.
