Travel back in time to experience the infamous “Burning of Fairfield” in 1779 through two fascinating perspectives. The Fairfield Museum, New York theater director and former Fairfield native Allison Benko present an interactive performance about the British attack that explores the patriot and loyalist versions of that historic day. Audience members are encouraged to celebrate or insult both sides, including a proclamation made by the British General William Tryon. Find out which side accepts blame for the ransacking of the Burr Mansion. Discover the role of Reverend John Sayre and other townspeople as we listen, learn and discover about that tragic day in Fairfield history.
