Sensory Friendly Mornings

Sometimes the Aquarium can be a place with too much stimuli. That's why they are offering to give children with sensory-processing differences a fun, comfortable and accepting environment. They will also open two hours early each morning, at 8 a.m., to offer more quiet time at the Aquarium.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
During "Sensory-Friendly Mornings," lights in the Aquarium will be lower, and music and other sounds will be turned down or off. We'll show two IMAX movies, with lower volume and the theater lights less dim. We offer a designated calming room all day. We will also offer special marine interpretation tables with appropriate activities and tactile opportunities.
For families that need to leave within the first 30 minutes, passes will be available to come back and try again another day.
Special Sensory-Friendly IMAX movie showings Sept. 18 and Nov. 6 are:
• 9 a.m. – "Humpback Whales"
• 10 a.m. – "Born to Be Wild"
• 11 a.m. – "Secret Ocean"
