World Anteater Day at Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo
*The event has already taken place on this date: Tue, 11/19/2024
Two Giant Anteaters call Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo’s Pampas Plains home. Both the female, named Pana, and the male, named EO, were born in 2009. Giant Anteaters have one of the lowest body temperatures in the animal kingdom at 91 to 97 degrees Fahrenheit! Due to this, they prefer temperatures greater than 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and will stay indoors during cold weather.
