  • Requires that parents/guardians commit to be actively involved in the school and support their child’s academic experience by providing transportation, school upkeep, and providing lunches for teachers and volunteers;

  • An extended school day commencing at 7:30 a.m. with morning meeting and cleanup, afterschool athletics and clubs (math, art, video, music), After School Study from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., and Friday Fun Night.

  • Requires mandatory Academic and Enrichment Summer Camp;

  • Provides athletic and cultural enrichment in and out of the greater Hartford area;

  • Provides an emphasis on character development, ethics, community service and an appreciation of cultural differences;

  • Requires students to take the same standardized testing as other middle schools;

  • Receives no federal, state or religious funding;

  • Graduated three classes of 8th graders (June 2011, 2012 and 2013). This year’s graduating class will be attending Avon Old Farms, Kent School, East Catholic High School, Darrow School, Northwest Catholic, Connecticut River Academy, Watkinson School, and Worcester Academy.  Past graduates are now attending Avon Old Farms, Choate Rosemary Hall, East Catholic, Kent School, Kingswood Oxford, Loomis Chaffee, Marianapolis, Marvelwood, Northwest Catholic, Rumsey Hall, St. Thomas More, Watkinson School, Xavier High School, and Westminster.  

We offer a rigorous academic middle school curriculum in addition to a wide variety of extracurriculars and after school activities. We also offer Summer Academy throughout the month of July.
