Ages for which our activities are most appropriate:
Hopkins is an independent, coeducational, college-preparatory day school for grades 7-12. Founded in 1660, the Hopkins of today combines a rich history with up-to-date pedagogy offering a solid foundation in all academic disciplines with selective opportunities to pursue individual interests. Arts, athletics, clubs, community service and many extracurricular activities are all important aspects of student life at Hopkins.

We are pleased that you are interested in Hopkins School. Hopkins seeks highly self-motivated applicants who are academically prepared and whose talents and intellectual curiosity will enable them to take advantage of the challenging curriculum and rich resources offered by the School. Applicants are expected to demonstrate an ability to complete a demanding course of study, determined by the Admission Committee during our admission process which includes the submission of an application, a transcript, admission test scores, teacher recommendations and a personal interview.

As we work through these challenging times, please know that we are committed to working together to make the admission experience as seamless as possible for you. If you are experiencing extenuating circumstances as a result of COVID-19 that would make completion of one or more of the requirements difficult, please reach out to us so that we discuss alternatives. You can call us at (203) 397-1001 ext. 211 or email at admission@hopkins.edu.

Please be aware that given our commitment to the health and safety of our current students, faculty and staff, things you may typically expect during the fall, such as campus tours, on-campus interviews and school visit days may not be available in their usual format.
