October Skygazing

*The event has already taken place on this date: Thu, 10/17/2019
Uranus was first discovered in 1781 by astronomer William Herschel who thought at first that it was a star or comet. It took 2 years before astronomers accepted Uranus as an actual planet.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

*Rain date: Friday, October 18th

Want more fun space facts? Take a seat in the Captain Alan Bean Planetarium! Learn about the night sky, the wonders of our solar system and the legends behind the planets and constellations. Then, with a wide array of telescopes at our disposal, we'll head outdoors in search of stars and other planets including Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus!

With an out-of-this-world view atop Talcott Mountain, it’s a great way to spend the last rays of an October evening!

$8 General Admission/$5 TMSC Members

Because seating is limited and events fill up quickly, we recommend making your reservations early!

*PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME! Late arrivals will not be allowed to enter the planetarium after the presentation begins at 6:45pm; they will, however, be able to participate in outdoor viewing with the group when the planetarium program concludes.

*Times, dates, and prices of any activity posted to our calendars are subject to change. Please be sure to click through directly to the organization’s website to verify.
