The River Street Early Learning Center is a high quality, NAEYC accredited integrated preschool program, serving students 3-5 years old. Our mission is to meet the needs of every child by providing meaningful experiences that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in partnership with the CREC River Street Autism Program. In the River Street Early Learning Center, students from the River Street Autism Program and typically developing preschoolers serve as role models for one another.
Because children learn through active exploration, experimentation, decision-making and problem-solving, the classroom is setup into centers of activities to create a rich, stimulating place for each of these types of learning to occur. These include areas for dramatic play, art projects, building blocks, language arts (reading and writing), and science and nature.
