The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for organizing and administering a comprehensive assortment of recreation programs, athletic leagues, and special events for youth, teens, adults, senior citizens, and families. The Torrington Parks and Recreation Department is proud to offer the new skate park, outdoor pool, playgrounds, athletic fields, hiking trails, indoor and outdoor courts, sledding hill, gymnasium, Teen Center, Civic Center, and Carl Bozenski’s Christmas Village.
Some of the special events offered through Recreation include: Nightmare on South Main Street, Light-Up Torrington, Christmas Village Annual Appeal, Christmas Village Parade, Holiday Decorating Contest, Easter Egg Hunt, and more!
