Imagine Nation, A Museum Early Learning Center at One Pleasant St, Bristol, asks the Bristol area to come together for children during the Week of the Young Child™ going on from April 13-17, 2015.  As part of the national Week of the Young Child™ celebrated across the country, Imagine Nation, A Museum Early Learning Center is honoring young children and all those who make a difference in children’s lives.

All young children need and deserve high-quality early learning experiences that will prepare them for life, and Imagine Nation, A Museum Early Learning Center has a great opportunity to help young children succeed.  The Week of the Young Child™ is a time for participants to recognize that the starting years of life are the best learning years for all young children. Together we can help make a difference.

Each day of the week will feature a theme from 9:30am-5:00pm that day. There will be daily animal encounters at 10:00am and at 2:00pm included in museum admission. There will also be a daily Workshop Add-on that children can participate in for $5 per workshop per child. Daily workshops are from 11:00am-11:45am, or 1:00pm-1:45pm. Pre-registration is required for Workshop Add-ons only. Call 860-314-1400 to register. A Scholastic Book Fair will be held Wednesday April 15th to Saturday April 18th from 10:00am-4:00pm.

Monday, April 13th is Paint Day, where children can explore different art tools and techniques while mixing, brushing and dabbing. Monday’s Workshop Add-on is Pinwheel Painting.

Tuesday, April 14th is Taco Tuesday, where children can learn about Mexican culture, taste test tacos, and craft something “crunchy”. Tuesday’s Workshop Add-on is Paper Piñatas.

Wednesday, April 15th is Nano Days (from 10:00am-4:00pm), and allows children to visit interactive stations exploring teeny tiny science. Wednesday’s Workshop Add-on is Little Robots.

Thursday, April 16th is Music Makers, and we’ll shake, jingle, tap and clap. Create rhythmic patterns with the Garden of Beats drum circle from 11:30am-1:30pm. The Workshop Add-on is all about Music Makers.

Friday, April 17th is Feathered Friends, where children can learn all about feathers and their function for flight. The CT Parrot Society will be at the museum from 10:00am-2:00pm. The Workshop Add-on will be Build a Birdhouse.
