2018 Summer of Science Adventure
This cold weather has us all thinking about Summer!
What better way to get your child excited
about learning and still have fun than by joining us at
Talcott Mountain Science Center -- we have TONS of fun
science, tech-y, outdoor exploring, out of this world classes each week!
Summer at TMSC runs from the week of June 25th until August 13th from 9am to 3pm. Classes are located on
our mountain-top campus, and bus pick up and drop off is supplied -- class sizes are limited to 12 students.
Here, your children have the opportunity to learn hands-on
in an environment they can't get anywhere else.
Visit our website at www.tmsc.org/summer for more info!
Check out these "rockin" classes the week of June 25th:
Girls Rock! As in geology, and they can do a lot of other neat sciences too! Fun and challenging activities will stress investigation skills and build confidence in young female scientists. Experiment with chemistry, electricity, technology, life, earth and space sciences!
Explorers: Life Science
Join us as we delve into all facets of life science - from anatomy and physiology to medical research, from leaves and plants to frogs and ponds, your daily rhythms and your five senses, from exercise to sports medicine!
There are hidden treasures waiting to be found tucked away in the mountains, forests, waterways, deserts, cities, or parks near you! It's a high-tech hide-and-seek, a modern version of a scavenger hunt. Around the world, people have hidden small "caches" of items, and it is your job to find them! It's a great way to get outdoors and get some exercise in a fun and rewarding way. Learn about GPS, and create and find some caches. It's the game that makes you the search engine!
Does smell help you to taste? What makes an optical illusion work? Exciting activities will help children explore the mysteries of the senses. From bugs to birds, from raindrops to craters, we'll find out how lots of cool things in nature happen!
